Four Filipinos Die in Car Crash – Sunday, Dec 06 2008
Three Filipino Temporary Foreign Workers, Renato Huelgas, 47, April Buenaflor, 23, and Yvette Nones, 28 and Ralph Adriano, 49, a long-time resident of Fort McMurray and an active member of its local Filipino community, were killed in a fatal car crash on Sunday, December 06, 2008, as they were headed back to Edmonton on Highway 63, just south of Fort McMurray.
Boyle RCMP said a 2003 silver Dodge Durango was southbound on Highway 63 when it collided with a semi-trailer about 50 kilometres north of Wandering River at about 10 p.m. Sunday.
Huelgas, Buenaflor and Nones had all worked for either Tim Hortons or Wendy’s for about two years, said Wayne Bigelow, vice-president of operations for Tollcorp Enterprises, the franchisee for both restaurants.
